OneSky Ambassador FAQ
What is the OneSky Ambassador Program?
The OneSky Ambassador Program is a volunteer-based initiative that empowers passionate individuals to represent and promote OneSky’s mission and vision: ensuring every child receives quality early care and education. Ambassadors serve as advocates, educators, and community builders.
How is this different from Students for OneSky?
Our Ambassador program is aimed at engaging adoptees, recent graduates, and young adults. You don’t have to be a part of a student group or any official organization to join. We designed this program for Ambassadors to educate and advocate for a culture of philanthropy in their communities and amongst their peers.
Who can become a OneSky Ambassador?
Anyone who is passionate about early childhood care and education, believes in OneSky’s mission, and is willing to dedicate time and energy to spreading awareness and engaging their community can become an Ambassador.
What are the responsibilities of an Ambassador?
What is the time commitment, and how long do I need to commit to being an Ambassador?
Ambassadors are expected to dedicate some time each month to engage others, but the exact commitment may vary depending on your role and availability. Our program is flexible, designed to fit around your personal and professional commitments, and our team will provide all the information and tools you need to succeed.
The standard commitment for an Ambassador is one year, with the option to renew after completing your first term. This one-year term ensures you have enough time to immerse yourself in the work and make a meaningful impact in your community.
Are there any training or resources provided?
Yes! All Ambassadors receive:
Is this a paid position?
No, the Ambassador Program is a volunteer opportunity. However, participants gain valuable experience in advocacy, nonprofit engagement, and leadership. We are happy to offer letters of recommendation or proof of community service hours upon request. You are also welcome to put this experience on your resume.
Can Ambassadors contribute ideas or lead initiatives?
Absolutely. We welcome and encourage Ambassadors to bring their own ideas and lead campaigns, events, or partnerships that align with OneSky’s mission and vision.
