FAQ

How do I get started?

1. Pick a trail
2. Register online and fundraise
3. We’ll see you on October 21!

Why have we switched to GIVE.asia?

GIVE.asia was founded in 2009 in Singapore by students from the National University of Singapore and gained popularity among youths and young professionals who wanted a better giving experience on the Internet. It has since raised HKD $100 million for various charitable causes, and won numerous awards and recognition from the government and nonprofit sectors. Today, GIVE.asia is the only social enterprise that offers a free crowdfunding platform for charitable giving and that’s why OneSky has chosen to work with them. We hope you enjoy using it! In addition, GIVE.asia will ask for small tips to sustain their work during each donation transaction but you are free to opt out. If you make the tips, please note that it’s not tax deductible in Hong Kong.

Can we register as a family?

Absolutely! You are welcome to hike with your family and friends. Please submit one registration form for your family.

How much should I raise?

We ask that each adult raise at least HK$400 and each child raise at least HK$100. For example, a family with 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years old will need to raise at least 400 + 400 + 100 + 100 = HK$1,000.

When should we be at the starting point?

Trail 1 (3.8km): All hikers should plan to arrive at Gilwell Camp Site, Fei Ngo Shan Road by 12:30 p.m.

Trail 2 (7.7km): All hikers should plan to arrive at MacLehose Trail at Tai Po Road by 11:00 a.m.

Trail 3 (10.5km): All hikers should plan to arrive at Po Lo Che of Sai Kung by 11:00 a.m.

Will transportation be provided?

We will only provide shuttle bus service from Choi Hung MTR Station to the starting point of Trail 1. For hikers opting for other routes, please arrange your own transportation to your starting points.

We will provide shuttle bus service from the finish line to Choi Hung MTR Station after the hike for all hikers.

Where does my donation go towards?

The money raised this year will make it possible for OneSky to train caregivers all across China. Your support will also help us nurture the development of our babies, toddlers and preschoolers in Hefei and Wuhan, and allow us to provide much-needed support for children like Anyun who has blossomed under the loving care of her OneSky-trained nanny.
