What are OneSky Ambassadors?
This is a volunteer-based initiative that empowers passionate individuals to represent and promote OneSky’s mission to provide responsive care and safe learning environments so that marginalized young children in Asia can thrive. Ambassadors serve as advocates, educators, and community builders.
How is this different from Students for OneSky?
This opportunity is aimed at engaging adoptees, recent graduates, and young professionals. You don’t have to be a part of a student group or any official organization to join. We designed this initiative for Ambassadors to share OneSky’s approach and work, and to advocate for a culture of philanthropy in their communities and among their peers.
Who can become a OneSky Ambassador?
Any adoptee, recent graduate or young professional who is passionate about early childhood care and education, believes in OneSky’s mission, and is willing to dedicate time and energy to spreading awareness and engaging their community.
What are the responsibilities of an Ambassador?
- Raise awareness about OneSky through social media, events, and community engagement.
- Support advocacy efforts and campaigns.
- Represent OneSky at events, webinars, or conferences.
- Share OneSky stories and resources with their networks.
What is the time commitment, and how long do I need to commit to being an Ambassador?
Ambassadors are expected to dedicate some time each month to engage others, but the exact commitment may vary depending on your availability and timing around OneSky’s activities. Our initiative is flexible, designed to fit your personal and professional commitments. The OneSky team will provide all the information and tools you need to succeed.
The standard commitment for an Ambassador is one year, with the option to renew after completing your first term. This one-year term ensures you have enough time to immerse yourself in the work and make a meaningful impact in your community. Of course, if you find that being a OneSky Ambassador no longer works for you, just let us know.
Are there any training or resources provided?
Yes! All Ambassadors receive:
- Orientation and training materials
- Access to a digital toolkit
- Regular updates from the OneSky team
- Opportunities for mentorship and skill development
Is this a paid position?
No, the Ambassador Initiative is a volunteer opportunity; however, participants gain valuable experience in advocacy, nonprofit engagement, and leadership. We are happy to offer letters of recommendation or proof of community service hours upon request. You are also welcome to put this experience on your resume.
Can Ambassadors contribute ideas or lead initiatives?
Absolutely. We welcome and encourage Ambassadors to bring their own ideas and lead campaigns, events, or partnerships that align with OneSky’s mission. We will be here to help you brainstorm to bring your ideas to life.
