“I am passionate about creating an equal playing field for all children. And I’m thrilled to be part of an organization dedicated to ensuring that every young child has access to quality care and education, regardless of their circumstances.” Morgan has had the privilege of spending the last two decades helping NGOs with projects in Asia, Africa and South America raise funds and tell their stories. She is honored to serve as OneSky’s first CEO following our visionary founder, Jenny Bowen, and to share Jenny’s passion for making high quality care and early education available to children living in low-resourced communities in Asia.
“After 17 years in the corporate world, I moved from a career at Dell to OneSky. Though OneSky was just ‘one subway station away,’ for me it was like a dream come true to join an organization devoted to helping orphaned children.” Emma began her career in China at an American venture capital firm. She then went to the US, received her MBA from the University of Southern California in 2000 and worked at the Silicon Valley Bank. Five years later, she returned to China to join Dell, where she built her controllership capabilities.
“I am excited to join the OneSky team, helping children reach their potential by supporting their teachers, families, and caregivers. I’ve built a career championing advancing equity within the early childhood sphere and could not think of a better place to continue working on that mission.” Before joining OneSky, Shanelle served as the Associate Commissioner for Child Welfare Support Services covering all of New York City at the Administration for Children’s Services. She also worked at the NYC Department of Health as the Senior Advisor for Early Childhood Education. Shanelle holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Innovation from NYU.
“I was born and raised by my grandparents and extended family in Hong Kong before reuniting with my parents in Boston at the age of seven, so I’ve been fortunate to experience firsthand the benefits of growing up in a safe and supported environment with responsive and caring adults.” Before joining OneSky, Roger spent over a decade working at the intersection of government, nonprofits, and the private sector to help innovative organizations grow and scale their impact.
“I believe that every child is born with his or her own potential for healthy development. If we give children a helping hand, in time and in the appropriate way, it will make a significant difference in their lives later.” Hien holds a B.A. from Danang Pedagogic University, as well as an M.A. in Educational Management. Over the last 23 years, she has worked for World Vision and East Meets West foundations in the mountainous and rural areas of Vietnam. She has spent most of her life living with and helping poor and vulnerable children and women in remote communities.
“I feel immense pride supporting parents and caregivers by promoting the power of responsive
care, and witnessing how the lives of vulnerable children are being transformed by love.” Phyllis was raised in Hong Kong and studied overseas, graduating from the University of Melbourne. She went on to receive a Master’s in Counseling from Monash University. After gaining experience in education and management, she moved back to Hong Kong to serve the children and parents of her homeland. Prior to her work at OneSky, Phyllis worked as a kindergarten principal.
“I want to work for children, especially disadvantaged children. Happiness is when I become the one serving their interests. I am grateful to the leaders and colleagues at OneSky for creating a great and humane working environment.” After nearly 15 years of teaching Early Childhood Education (ECE) at universities and research institutes in Vietnam, and cooperating with NGOs and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training in the field of ECE, Alice welcomes the opportunity to use her passion for helping children at OneSky’s Early Learning Center (ELC) in Vietnam.
“I am so lucky to have joined OneSky. Because it was in line with my dream to do more for Mongolian young children, aged 0-3.” Gereltuya was a specialist teacher of hearing-impaired children and Educational Manager at a school for deaf and blind children for 20 years after graduating from the Pedagogical University in Hungary in 1982. She received her Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2000. She also managed educational projects funded by the EC, ADB, and World Bank for 16 years. Before joining OneSky she served as the Education Program Manager at Save the Children.
“Working with vulnerable children, observing them, helping them help themselves and learning from them has already made my life extraordinarily significant. These beautiful little angels make miracles of their lives and prove that every child has infinite potential. I feel so lucky and proud to work at OneSky.” Before joining OneSky in 2008 as an Infant Nurture field trainer, Daphne served as a local representative of Chinese Children Adoption International for twelve years. She majored in English and is committed to studying Montessori education systematically and in-depth by taking professional training courses in her spare time.

“When I was a baby my family moved from the U.S. to Asia where we spent most of the next 18 years— in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and Thailand. Now, supporting vulnerable children in Asia through OneSky’s work allows me to give back to the people and places that helped shape my life.” Celia has more than 20 years of NGO experience in fundraising and communications, most recently heading the Grants and Publications team at Room to Read. She received an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University and is passionate about advocating for those who are not always heard.
“I was fortunate to have my mother’s nurturing love during my childhood. When I was 19, my mother got sick and could no longer be a presence in my life. But the foundation she laid for me in childhood paved the way for me. When I learned about OneSky in 2000, I instantly felt connected to children who had also lost their mothers’ love.” Ivy was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States as a teenager. She studied economics at the University of California, Berkeley, and maintains a strong interest in education and working with children.
“When I joined OneSky in 2013, I was immediately immersed in the production of our Video Resource Library. This beautiful collection of training movies strives to inspire caregivers to foster the development of their orphaned children through the magic of responsive care. Having had the incredible fortune of growing up in a loving family, my work at OneSky has provided me with the opportunity to honour the precious gift that life has given me.” Before joining OneSky, Melissa worked for years in the post-production world of non-fiction filmmaking.
“I grew up in a loving family and it wasn’t until working with children abroad that I saw the sobering reality so many children face, born with little nurturing support or care. But I also saw the inspiring resiliency of a child, despite all odds.” A native of northern California, Katie has always been passionate about working with children and sharing the importance of early care. She studied literature at the University of California Santa Cruz and joined OneSky in 2015 as a volunteer, which has since developed into her role today.

“Being a part of the OneSky family has allowed me to continue supporting vulnerable children in my own motherland. By helping to provide these resilient children with loving care and hope, I believe that I have found my life’s purpose.” After graduating from university in Australia with a degree in Marketing and Psychology, Carmen joined an international relief and development organization, which supported children suffering from extreme poverty. Carmen joined OneSky Hong Kong in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience in development/fundraising for both international and local NGOs. She currently lives in Melbourne with her family.
“Over the course of the time I’ve spent volunteering with children in Africa and travelling overseas, I have witnessed first-hand the precarious position that too many children around the world endure. I delight in the opportunity to be able to use my skills to help change the fate of vulnerable children across Asia.” Zena has spent her career working in development for some of the UK’s largest health charities, primarily with major donors and private foundations. She believes strongly in creating a level playing field for every child. She holds a degree in French, Spanish and European Studies from the University of Bath.
