Home-based Care Trainer, Vietnam Vo Thi Quynh Thi

I learned about OneSky from an article I read about the opening of the Early Learning Center in Da Nang back in 2017. I was impressed by the work that had been done in China, and OneSky’s plans to help Vietnamese children living in industrial zones. I knew immediately that OneSky was the place I wanted to work for.

I had been a kindergarten teacher for nearly 20 years because I love children … I love singing, drawing, dancing, and playing with them. Throughout my career, there were so many times I witnessed: a baby’s first steps, first words, first rollover, first drawing. I felt fortunate to be a part of the earliest and most important years of their life.

But I was even more fortunate to be selected to join OneSky’s inaugural team of home-based care trainers in Vietnam. From being a teacher to being a trainer, I came to understand the full meaning and importance of early childhood education. Now my job is not only helping the children but also empowering thousands of other women in the wonderful work of caring for and educating children.

My trainees range in age from younger to older women who often have little to no previous training in childcare. However, their determination to learn and do a better job has greatly motivated me. I’m grateful to be part of this community of care and know that I’m making a meaningful contribution to OneSky and the children we care for every single day.
